CANVAS SANDAL

20160321

I'm half way through my spring semester and yet it started snowing! I knew Boston winter wouldn't go away that easily. I can't wait for the days to get warmer, so I ordered new sandals being the impatient person that I am. I can't wear them now but I know I'll break them in when I visit Korea this summer! They are black, canvas and leather  MM6 sandals with 3 inch heels. I think this height is perfect for me since I turn into a newborn baby deer if it gets any higher.

These sandals are appropriate for every day use, so I hope I don't wear them out too fast. I prefer block heels more than the slim kind because I feel a sense of not only physical balance, but a visual balance as well. Block heels make me feel like I can stand my ground, with confidence and style.

NEW WALLET

My new wallet arrived! With a small job on the side, I saved up, satisfied my urge to splurge, and now I can finally welcome my Saint Laurent home.

Before purchasing, I was debating between buying a bag or a new wallet. But my previous wallet was worn out with a few battle scars from constant use, and decided that spending money on a really nice wallet is worth it.

A wallet is usually an item that stays with you through literally thick and thin (too many cards or too many receipts) while a bag can be used based on your outfit. It's something you will be holding every day whether you're grabbing a drink or getting a 2:00 AM snack at 7Eleven. If you are planning on purchasing a wallet, make sure to find something that can easily match any outfit or bag. A simple dark beige for example. I would recommend a more muted palette of colors to look good when you take it out at any season.

FRILL COLLAR

Recently, I decided to visit the COS store because I had a specific dress in mind. The store is located on the famous Newbury Street of Boston which has charming shops and boutiques including Steven Alan, Marimekko, Vince, AllSaints, and Max Mara.

My eyes have been glued on a particular dress that is both modest and classy, and gives the body a nice shape. I also love the small frill collar that hugs your neck. A vintage detail on a modern piece.

I found the dress and immediately tried it on. It was comfortable, not too tight, and I would pair this with either a bright medium sized clutch, or my black vintage Prada bag. I can picture myself wearing this to meet friends and family at a nice cafe or a tea house. What's great about this piece, in my opinion, is that it would work for both a Sunday morning brunch, or a Saturday night out.

COS is wonderful and I am extremely thankful that a store opened in Boston. It is an affordable fashion brand with a sophisticated, timeless style. If you like that modern, simple look then try checking out their website and possibly a store nearby.
